CPGH special meeting called

The Central Peninsula General Hospital Inc. will hold a special meeting to discuss the 2006 Legislative priorities at 4:30 p.m. today in the Redoubt Room in the basement of CPGH. It is open to the public. For a copy of the agenda visit www.cpgh.org.

SAD to be discussed

Seasonal Affective Disorder will be the second in a series of mental health topics discussed from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today in the Kenai Community Library conference room. Neighbors needed

The Peninsula Clarion is seeking outgoing, motivated people in the Nikiski, Soldotna, Sterling and Kasilof areas to help us introduce our readers to their neighbors in a weekly column.

The Neighbors section will have a new look and will highlight individuals in the area.

Community members interested in helping launch a new and informative column will need to e-mail a resume and writing sample to Jennifer Neyman at news@peninsulaclarion.com. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday.

Fair trade crafts fund-raiser set

A Ten Thousand Villages Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna United Methodist Church on Binkley Street. Crafts from around the world will be available. Profits are returned to Ten Thousand Villages, which provides fair income to Third World people by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories. Wrestling camp takes it to the mat

The Skyview High School wrestling team will host a wrestling camp from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the school for beginning and intermediate wrestlers, in grades three through eight. A minitournament will be held at the conclusion of camp. The cost is $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Craft fairs vendors needed

The Sterling Elementary PTA is seeking vendors for its holiday craft fair to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 10 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 11. Booth space is available. The cost is $50.
