KETCHIKAN (AP) -- A 55-year-old Ketchikan man was killed when the tractor he was riding overturned Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers reported.

David Moss died after his tractor overturned and he was pinned between the tractor and a rock. When emergency personnel arrived, Moss was unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moss was operating a backhoe on the tractor when the machine toppled down a 20-foot embankment into a ditch, troopers said. Moss either jumped or was thrown from the tractor, which then rolled on top of him.
