JUNEAU (AP) -- A man accused of having sex with an unconscious woman was arraigned Tuesday in Juneau Superior Court. The woman later told police that when she woke up, her pants were on backwards.
Jerald Hinchman Jr., 23, is charged with felony sexual assault in a Nov. 10 incident.
A witness saw Hinchman having sex at a party with a woman who had passed out, prosecutors said. They said he apologized to the victim in a later phone conversation.
Hinchman's bail was set at $25,000.
He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
It was the second case in less than a week involving Juneau men accused of sexually abusing a woman who passed out at a party. In that case, Saul Roribio, 21, and Marcus Willard, 24, were arraigned in a similar incident Sept. 15.
