Generosity flows for blood drive

Posted: Wednesday, November 23, 2005

The generous people of the Kenai Peninsula graciously hosted multiple blood drives across Kenai Peninsula the week of Nov. 7. These community events were supported by the use of a van sponsored by numerous businesses and civic organizations from the peninsula.

One hundred ninety-four people took time out of their busy schedule to donate blood. Thank you all!

Our very special thanks to Matt Fischer at Skyview High School, Nicole Simmons and Todd Clossan at Kenai Peninsula College, Jamie Leman at Ninilchik School, Heather Sinclair at Soldotna High School and Jodie Johnson at the Homer Health Fair. Each of these hard working coordinators put all of the elements of a successful blood drive together. Thank you all. We couldn’t have done it without you.

The Bidarka Best Western donated two nights stay while we were in Homer. Thank you. Our team members raved about your wonderful beds.

The Blood Bank of Alaska provides blood to 21 hospitals in Alaska, including Central Peninsula General Hospital and South Peninsula Hospital.

Thank you to the people of the Kenai Peninsula for helping to provide the gift of life to your fellow Alaskans across the state.

If you are interested in hosting a blood drive at your place of business or worship, give me a call at 222-5652.
