Light earthquake shakes Homer area; no damage or injuries reported

PALMER (AP) -- A light earthquake shook a wide area around Homer early Friday, but there were no reports of any damage or injuries.

The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said the quake had a preliminary magnitued of 4.0, and was centered 50 miles northeast of Homer. The quake occurred at 7:45 a.m.

Seismologists said the temblor was felt lightly at Homer.
