Students are studying turkeys in Ms. Fischer's class. The class is hoping that if they make a variety of turkeys and put them in a field all together, the farmer will not be able to find the class' special turkey for Thanksgiving.

Ms. Ralston's first-graders are working on a Thanksgiving celebration. Students are learning poems and parts for a play. As part of the celebration, the students created music (sounds) using musical instruments for the play and poems. The celebration begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Nov. 18 was Mickey Mouse's birthday. Ms. Ralston's class celebrated his birthday by having Mickey Mouse waffles, toast with Mickeys on them, doing a variety of Mickey reading and math activities and writing birthday cards to him. The class sent the letters off and are waiting for a reply. Mrs. Moon's second-graders and Ms. Ralston's first-graders joined together for reading buddies. The older students read to the younger students and then the younger students read to the older students.

The PTA will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the library.

Santa's Secret Shop will run Dec. 6 through 10.

The annual holiday concert begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Kenai Central High School.

Families in need of a Christmas basket or families wishing to sponsor one can stop by or call the office for more information. Deadlines for applications is Dec. 3.

The Christmas drive committee is asking kindergartners to donate one hat, first-graders to donate one pair of mittens or gloves, and second- and third-graders to donate one package of socks. if they are able.

Nov. 19 was "Miss Janine Day." The staff and students would like to thank Miss Janine for what she does for them each day.
