CPH Auxiliary holiday bazaar coming

The Central Peninsula Hospital 6th Annual Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar will be held Thursday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Denali Conference Room. For more information contact: Volunteer Services, 714-4544.

Women's basketball coming

North Peninsula Recreation is offering a Women's Basketball League Night Mondays at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center starting Jan. 10. Registration deadline is Dec. 20. For more information call 776-8800.

Brown Bears support Toys for Tots

The Kenai River Brown Bears is hosting a Toys for Tots night Friday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m. The Brown Bears are playing the Fairbank Ice Dogs. Toys will be available for purchase at the event. There will be a toy toss during the first period break. Hit the Hummer and win a prize. All toys collected will stay on the Kenai Peninsula. Tsalteshi Trails Youth Ski Program starting

Registration is now open for the Tsalteshi Trails Youth Ski Program. Youth ages 6 to 12 are invited. The program runs from Jan. 15 to March 5, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m., and some Saturdays. Nutcracker in Homer

Come celebrate the holiday season with the 22nd production of the Homer Nutcracker Ballet. Spin classes on tap

Nikiski Community Recreation Center is offering a bicycle spin class on Saturdays, 10 to 11 a.m., and Wednesdays, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., through Dec. 18. No classes over Christmas break to resume Jan. 5. For more information call 776-8800.

Community asked to help in teen's battle with cancer

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Kenai Central High School cafeteria to benefit Brittney Boyes, a KCHS sophomore who is undergoing treatment for AML leukemia at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Oregon. Dinner donation is $5 for children, $10 for adults, payable at the door. Members of the Kenai River Brown Bears hockey team will be servers. The event will include a silent/Chinese auction, split the pot, bracelet sales and other drawings.

Help needed to fight illness

Friends and family of Shannon Perry are asking for donations to assist in obtaining surgery for abdominal adhesions. Donations will be used to cover the costs of the surgery as well as travel and hotel expenses. Donations can be made at Wells Fargo to the Shannon Perry Fund. Women's cancer support group meets

A Women's Cancer Support Group meets on the last Monday of each month at Soldotna Bible Chapel, 300 W. Marydale, in Soldotna, at 11:30 a.m. The next meeting is Monday, Nov. 29.

Brewers meet monthly

The Kenai Peninsula Brewing and Tasting Society will be meeting monthly, on the first Wednesday of each month. We welcome homebrewers and beer lovers from the area to join us in experiencing good craft beer. Our next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, at Kenai River Brewing Company, 241 N. Aspen Dr., Suite #100, Soldotna. We will be adopting by-laws and electing officers at the December meeting. More info is available on our Facebook page. Boy Scouts District Committee meets

The Great Alaska Council, Boy Scouts of America Tustumena District will be holding its District Committee meeting on Dec. 2, 6 p.m., at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association. All District Committee members and commissioners need to attend. Directly following will be our District Round Table from 7 to 8 p.m. Youth Protection training will start from 8 to 8:30 p.m. All registered adults must take this training, and this will be the last group session for the year. Recharter packets will be picked up as well.
