William A. Wise Sr.

Former Soldotna resident William A. Wise Sr. died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Arkansas. He was 69.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Moon officiated.

William A. Wise was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Vernon, Texas, to Hershel and Clara Carnley Wise. He married Linda Green on Sept. 22, 1958, in Oregon. He was a machinist for British Petroleum for 15 years. He also was an Army veteran. He lived in Soldotna for 24 years before moving to Mountain Home, Ark., in 2002. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a member of the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Wise was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Wise of Mountain Home, Ark.; sons, Raymond (Jackie) Wise of Fort Laramie, Wyo., William (Dianne) Wise Jr. of Wasilla; daughters, Kathleen (Raymond) Blecher, of Aledo, Texas, Stephanie Slack of Oregon and Julie Wise of Nevada; nephew, Wallace Victor Charles Lund (Bonnie) Bradley of Wasilla; grandchildren, Bryan, Dianna Rose, Amanda, Zachary, Alexander, Caleb and Jacob; brothers, Kenneth Gordon Wise of Oregon and Tom Clinton Wise of Montana; sisters, Geraldine Caudell of Oregon, Carol Penwarden of Montana and Patricia Rogers of Alaska, and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors in Arkansas.
