WRCC to hold monthly board meeting
The Kenai-Soldotna Women's Resource and Crisis Center will hold its monthly board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at WRCC.
Clothing available to those in need
The Women's Resource and Crisis Center has free clothing for infants, children, women and men. All clothing is received on a donation basis from community members. The Clothes Closet is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Conservation district meeting scheduled
The Kenai Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a meeting Wednesday at 1 p.m. The meeting will take place at the USDA office, suite 160, 110 Trading Bay in Kenai.

Red Cross classes offered this week
The American Red Cross offers monthly community classes for first aid with adult, child and infant CPR. The next available class is Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Blood drive planned at KPC
There will be a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kenai Peninsula College. Donors are asked to drink lots of caffeine-free liquids and eat a good meal before donating. For more information, call 260-5672.
Spaghetti feed planned
A spaghetti feed will be held for Denise and Lindy Cox on Thursday at Nikiski Middle-Senior High School from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. This benefit is to help the Coxes with the cost due to being delayed in Vietnam while they were adopting their sons.

Avalanche warning workshop offered
An avalanche hazard recognition workshop is scheduled for Saturday at the Soldotna High School Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Preregistration and workshop information is available by calling the Office of Emergency Management at 262-4910 or (800) 478-4441, ext. 281 or 247.
There is no fee for this class. People who will benefit from this class are snowboarders, snowmachiners, telemark skiers, cross-country skiers and backcountry enthusiasts.
'Fibber McGee and Molly' show planned
The Kenai Peninsula College Sunday Showcase program presents the college community choir in a "Fibber McGee and Molly Christmas Show -- Fibber Paints a Christmas Tree" at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Brockel Building.
Anyone interested may be a member of the studio audience for the radio show that was last heard in December 1945.
Weather bumps fireworks display to January
Because of last Friday's foggy weather, the annual Christmas Comes to Kenai fireworks display has been postponed until Jan. 26. It will coincide with the Kenai Chamber of Commerce's Town and Gown ball. A location and time for the fireworks show has not been decided yet.
'Big Brothers' needed
The Kenai Peninsula United Way is looking for adult males to serve as "big brothers" for area boys. Interested men must be over 21, agree to a background check and be willing to dedicate to a long-term arrangement. For more information, call 283-9500.
