Teacher Lee Moore enlists the help of dummy, Archie, during a Latin lesson for second-graders at Aurora Borealis Charter School in Kenai last Friday. All students at the school learn Latin, Moore said, because it builds English vocabulary and provides a base for many other foreign languages. Moore goes from classroom to classroom throughout the day teaching students the language. On Fridays, younger students review by "teaching" Archie what they've learned, then Archie listens in as students learn Greek myths.
