Which side are they on?

Why is it that the citizens must coerce our “lawmakers” to apply the law when such law has been grievously broken? Can it be that the “lawmakers” are more sympathetic to the lawbreakers? And if so, just where does that leave the average American citizen who must not only follow the laws but also wishes to do so?
