Parents to plan after-grad party

Parents of Soldotna High School seniors are invited to attend an after-graduation student party planning meeting at 6 p.m. today in the teachers’ workroom. Fundraising, food and decorations will be discussed. For more information, call Randy Milliron at 283-0507.

Used book sale slated

The volunteers at the Soldotna Public Library will host a used book sale from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library.

There will be no book sale held in December. The library is accepting donations of books and puzzles in good condition.

LeeShore board meeting slated

The LeeShore Center will hold a board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in its conference room at 325 S. Spruce Street in Kenai. It is open to the public. For more information, call 283-9479.

Refuge open to tree cutting

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is open for Christmas tree cutting. Trees must be for personal use only. There is a limit of one tree per household.

Trees may be taken anywhere on the refuge, except within 150 feet of a road, lake, stream, trail, campground or picnic area. Tree cutting is not permitted in the refuge headquarters and visitor center area and along Ski Hill Road.

Tree cutters are requested to trim stumps as close to the ground as possible. For more information, call 262-7021.

Club to sell See’s candy

Soroptimist International of the Kenai Peninsula is taking orders for See’s through Dec. 4. Proceeds benefit Soroptimist programs. For more information, call Lyn Hodel at 262-9253.

Choir fruit fundraiser begins

The Kenai Central High School’s choir has begun its annual fresh fruit fundraiser. Orders will be taken through Dec. 12 with delivery made directly to purchasers Jan. 12 through 15.

Cara-Cara navel oranges, ruby red grapefruit, D’anjou pears, tangelos and red delicious apples are available to order. Gift samplers as well as bulk orders are available. Orders may be placed through KCHS choir members or by calling Renee Henderson at 283-7524 or Rocky DeMello at 283-3883.
