Caregivers appreciate help

Posted: Friday, November 28, 2008

On Nov. 13, National Family Caregiver Support Program, in conjunction with the Soldotna Area Senior Citizens, Inc., hosted our annual Caregiver Appreciation Day at the Soldotna Senior Center. We would like to thank the following agencies and businesses as well as their employees for giving up a Saturday to come and talk to the area family caregivers about various caregiving concerns:

Access Alaska, Adult Protective Services, Alaska Aquatic Therapy, Alaska Legal Services, Alzheimer's Resource of Alaska, Community Care Network, Consumer Direct Personal Care, Energy Enhancements, Forget-Me-Not Day Center, Frontier Community Services, G's Wellness Center, Genacta In-Home Care, Geneva Woods, Heritage Place, Hospice of the Central Peninsula, LeeShore Center, Lifeline, Mattson Rolfing, Ready Care, Sharen Sleater, Women's Heart Health, and Smooth Pathways Life Coaching

Without these agencies and businesses willing to give their time to come together and be available for the public and the family caregivers, we would not be able to hold such an event and we want to thank all of them for their time. Thanks also goes to Ken Losser for opening the senior center and being available throughout the day in case we needed anything.
