'Sound of Music' auditions planned

Kenai Performers will hold auditions for "The Sound of Music" in the Renee Henderson Auditorium at Kenai Central High School. Auditions for the parts of the Von Trapp children, Ralph and Maria will be today at 6 p.m. Auditions for adult parts and the part of Maria will be Friday at 6 p.m. Call-backs will be Sunday at 3 p.m. Performance dates will be Feb. 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 and 24. Potters Guild to sell clay works Saturday

The Kenai Potters Guild will sell clay works in the pottery studio at the Kenai Fine Arts Center, 816 Cook Ave., in Kenai from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Earnings will go toward constructing a kiln in the pottery studio.

Artwork wanted for upcoming show

The Pratt Museum is soliciting entries for its Juried Art Show 2002. The show is open to artists residing in Southcentral Coastal Alaska, from Prince William Sound to Kodiak and on the Kenai Peninsula as far north as Hope.

Preliminary selection will be from 35 mm slides only. Each artist may submit up to four entries. Works in any media are accepted. Only works not previously shown and completed in the last two years will be accepted.

Slide entries must be received by the museum no later than Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. Each entry much be accompanied by an artist entry form, along with a $15 entry fee. Prospectuses are available at the Pratt Museum.
