Soldotna elves give Santa a hand

Soldotna Community Schools recently sponsored our annual Santa's Elf class. Soldotna Middle School woods teacher, John Tabor, volunteered his time to lead "the elves" in planning and assembling wooden toys for needy Soldotna children.

After an evening kickoff class and two full-day Saturday work sessions, an abundance of wooden toys are now wrapped up for distribution over the holidays.

This year's elves were Lindsey Sagami, Lin and Bill Wheeler, Jan Stiers, Cheryl Schey, Susan Saupe, Laura Sauermilch, Wendy Szymik and the Hutchisons -- Michaela, Isaac, Mary, Seth, Eli, Monica and Hannah.

The "hero" of the project was, as always, Spenard Builders Supply. SBS provided all the supplies needed for the wooden crafts, and we very much appreciate the support they lend to this worthwhile program every year.
