Native outreach fellowship to meet

The North Wind Native Fellowship, an inter-denominational Native outreach, meets at 7 p.m. today at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road in Soldotna. Meetings are held every other Friday. Every fourth gathering is a Native potluck.

A children's ministry is provided for children in fourth grade and under. For more information, contact Van or Vide Van Velzor at 260-3293.

Renown guitarist to play at Sunday services

Acoustic guitarist Dennis Agajanian will perform at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road in Soldotna. Agajanian has been performing for more than 25 years and has released many successful recording projects and videos. He has performed with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and is a featured performer at the Franklin Graham Crusades and Harvest Crusades. He was nominated for instrumentalist of the year in 1999 and 2000 and musician of the year in 2001 by the Christian Country Music Association.

Texas group seeks poetry from Kenai

The Texas Poetry Alliance is offering a $1,000 grand prize in its annual spiritual poetry contest, which is open to the public. The deadline for entering is Dec. 7.

No entry fee is required and everyone is invited to submit a poem. Over $4,500 in cash and prizes will be awarded.

To enter, send one poem 20 lines or less to Free Poetry Contest, 3412-A Moonlight Ave., El Paso, Texas 79904. People also may enter online at www.freecontest.com.

A winners' list will be sent to all entrants. The editors reserve the right to publish the winning poems online or in print.

Clothing ministry open

First Baptist Church of Soldotna's ministry New 2 You is collecting used toys in good, usable condition to be given away from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 21. The church's New 2 You clothing ministry is open from 1 to 3 p.m. every first and third Saturday of the month.

Friendship closet open Wednesdays

The Aurora Heights Assembly of God Friendship Closet is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays to meet people's clothing needs.

The clothing closet is located at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie Avenue, near Mile 27 of Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For information, call 776-8723.
