Alaska Native and Anchorage resident Angela M. "Angie" Cunningham died peacefully in her sleep at Elmendorf Air Force Base on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009. She was 41.
A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Kenai. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the church. At her request, she will be cremated following the services.
Miss Cunningham was born Nov. 8, 1968 in Nondalton. She attended school in Anchorage and Soldotna.
Over the years, she enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, arts and crafts and spending time with her new grandchildren.
"She was very adventurous and liked meeting new people. She will be greatly missed." her family said.
Miss Cunningham was preceded in death by her father, John J. Cunningham.
She is survived by her children Jose L. "Joey" Salinas, Sean Trefon, Denise Van Dyke and Terri Lynn Stanley; grandchildren Adriano R. Gonzalez-Medina, Jolene M. Stanley; her grandmothers Agnes Cusma and Lovie Johnson; her mother, Betty M. Cunningham; her brother, John V. Cunningham; sister, Brenda D. Cunningham; and her fianc, Sidney R. Meleskie.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
