The Cardiac Patient Support Group meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the Redoubt Room, located in the lower level at Central Peninsula Hospital. The group invites male and female patients dealing with heart disease and their family members to participate. The La Leche League of Soldotna and Kenai meets the third Monday of the month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Woman's Way Midwifery, 154 West Marydale Ave.; and again the first Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mindful Therapies Yoga (by Curves at the Soldotna "Y"). The league is a breastfeeding resource group that offers free monthly meetings, mother-to-mother breastfeeding support, telephone assistance and a lending library. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Kenai Central High School cafeteria to benefit Brittney Boyes, a KCHS sophomore who is undergoing treatment for AML leukemia at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Oregon. Dinner donation is $5 for children, $10 for adults, payable at the door. Members of the Kenai River Brown Bears hockey team will be servers. The event will include a silent/Chinese auction, split the pot, bracelet sales and other drawings.

Friends and family of Shannon Perry are asking for donations to assist in obtaining surgery for abdominal adhesions.
