Storm sparks chain of good will

Posted: Thursday, November 30, 2006

The wind storm blew a tree on my power line that ripped the meter off. The electric company workers were swamped, they couldn’t get to everyone at once. I was out from Nov. 13 to 17. On the third day, I saw water on the floor, for a moment I forgot what to do and who to call.

Then I talked to a lady named Sandra. She made a lot calls and things started happening. A lady and a man named Cindy and Jim helped me get a room at Hooligan’s Lodge for a couple of nights. Then the Red Cross took over for three days. A man named Joe talked to me about my power problems and took a load off my mind. A man, Rusty, went to shut the water off and made sure I had no water problems. He got it fixed. Jeff and Kris made sure there was antifreeze down the sinks and tub.

I lost hope in people helping people out on big and small problems like mine a long time ago. God showed me what he could do, if I’d just asked him. He showered and poured his mighty, powerful, majestic love through his angel on Earth. For that, I thank everyone for helping me and my dog.
