The network affiliates in Anchorage (ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox) add an extra two minutes of commercials to their prime time programming each hour. For the Anchorage network affiliates the evening schedule is 7, 8:02, 9:04 and 10:06 p.m.
That’s fine if all you want to watch is ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. But if the viewer has the audacity to switch to SciFi, Discovery or Comedy Central, he misses the first minutes minutes of his new program.
We have the right to view programming other than network programming. We also have the right to view that programming in its entirety. The Anchorage network affiliates are infringing upon those rights. They do it because we let them. They will continue to do it until we make them stop.
Call and write the station managers. Tell them they need to start their programming on time.
