Roy C. Borchardt
Longtime Alaskan and Kenai resident Roy C. Borchardt died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna following a long illness. He was 67.
A private family graveside service will be held.
Mr. Borchardt was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Wrenshall, Minn. He graduated high school and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Jan. 6, 1959. He served with the Marines until May 24, 1967. On Apr. 15, 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until Apr. 14, 1972.
He continued his service in the Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force reserves. He moved to Alaska on April 15, 1973, and lived in Anchorage and Kenai. He worked for Carpenter Union No. 1281 from August 1974 until retiring in June 1999. He was a member of the Nikiski Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Borchardt was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elvie Borchardt.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Kenai; son, Randall Borchardt of Kenai; step-son, Carl Schwarz of Kenai; step-daughter, Carmen Schwarz-Foroni of Milan, Italy; sisters, Kathy Seeley of Cohasset, Minn., and Debbie Burch of Cloquet, Minn., and brother, Dale Borchardt of Tulsa, Okla.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
