Women's Christmas brunch set

Kenai Aglow will host its annual Christmas brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Alaska Christian College, 35109 Royal Place (off West Poppy Lane.) Activities include a catered brunch, local entertainment, door prizes and a Christmas message by Nancy Haney. An onsite bookstore will be open during the event. The cost is $10 per person, and it is open to area women.

Cookie fundraiser continues

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church is taking orders for assorted Christmas cookies. The cost is $4 per dozen. For more information or to place an order, call Liz at 262-5525, Diane at 262-1714 or Rick at 262-1763 by Tuesday. Cookies will be ready for pick-up or delivery Dec. 12.

Cookies 'buy' the pound available

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church will hold its 13th annual cookies "buy" the pound holiday bake sale from 10 a.m. until cookies are gone Dec. 8 at the church at 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai. Proceeds will benefit the youth group activities. For more information, call Mary Kennedy at 776-8328.

Christmas event slated

Grace Lutheran Church and School will host "Christmas for Kids" for children, age 3 to sixth grade from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Dec. 8.

Kids will learn the meaning of Christmas, make a Christmas tree decoration, sing and learn a few carols, decorate cookies, make a Christmas card, have a hot dog lunch with chips, play holiday games and be in a 15-minute Christmas concert for parents at 1 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner, auction fundraiser set

The Sterling Lutheran Church will hold a spaghetti dinner and silent auction for baked goods from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Sterling Senior Center. Proceeds will assist Kent Aslett's village mission work and radio ministry in Nicaragua.

The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for children or a donation of $25 for families. For more information, call 262-5359.

Graf becomes interim pastor

Grief support group to meet

Soldotna United Methodist Church holds a life, love, loss support group from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Monday of the month at the church at 158 S. Binkley St. Any type of loss is open for discussion in the group. Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.

Children's group planned

The Soldotna United Methodist Church will have an after-school program from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Children may arrive as early as 3:30 p.m. Children in grades kindergarten through fourth may attend. Youth in grades five and up will be used to help.

Children's Bible club offered

Sterling Baptist Church will begin a weekly children's Bible club from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the church on the Sterling Highway and the corner of Swanson River Road. Some of the planned activities include games, prizes, Bible stories and songs. Youth in grades kindergarten through sixth may attend.

Soldotna Bible study slated

Soldotna Day Aglow's Beth Moore Bible study on Daniel final meeting will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peninsula Christian Center. Coffee and fellowship will be held at 9:30 a.m. Baby-sitting will be provided. The center is at the corner of Cohoe Avenue and Farnsworth Boulevard in Soldotna. Nikiski Aglow meeting set

Nikiski Aglow meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at North Star United Methodist Church at Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. Women are invited to attend Bible study, prayer and worship. For more information, call Bev Berdahl at 776-8022.

Thursday Bible study set

Clothes Quarters open

The Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at 225 S. Spruce St. behind Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Kenai. The store sells clothes and free trade coffee.
