Pool schedules announced

The Kenai and Skyview high schools pool hours are:

* Kenai Central High School -- 6:30 to 7:30a.m., Lap Swim Monday through Fridays; 9 to 11 a.m. Physical Therapy -- Mondays; 3 to 5 p.m. Piranaha Swim Team, Monday - Fridays; 6 to 7 p.m. Lap Swim, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 6 to 7:30 p.m. master swim Thursdays; and pool rentals are available. The cost is $4 Lap swim or Open swim, $35 for a punch card/ 10 punches on the card, $15 for 1/2 hour of private lessons. For more information, call 283-7476.

* Skyview High School -- Water Aerobics one, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m.; Water Aerobics two, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.; lap/open exercise, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; and lap/open exercise, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 262-3905 or 260-2365.

Cinderella seeks fairy god-mothers

The Soldotna High School Student Council is collecting gently used homecoming, prom, and bridesmaid dresses/shoes/accessories for Cinderella's Closet 2010.

This is a program to help area high school students in need with items for prom. Items can be dropped off to room 9 at the school. For more information, e-mail Meggean L. Bos at .

Spaghetti dinner, auction set

A spaghetti dinner and auction fundraiser will be held Saturday at the Kenai Central High School cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $10 for individuals and $25 for a family.

Proceeds from the benefit will go to Ivy Howland and her family to help with medical and travel expenses in her fight against cancer.

Ivy is at the Seattle Children's Hospital undergoing treatment for medullablastoma. Tickets are on sale at Kenai Central High School, Kenai Middle School, Kaleidoscope School of Arts and Science, Mountain View Elementary and at the door. For more information, e-mail Jean Dixon at .

Chili dinner planned

The Sterling Senior Center will host a chili dinner to benefit the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank on Saturday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12 years old. There will be three types of chili served. For more information, e-mail Bill and Karen Roberts at .

Free childcare offered

Soldotna High School Child Development students will have a free daycare Dec. 9, 10 and 11 from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m.

Children need to be potty trained and be between 2 through 5 years old. E-mail Meggean Bos at for an enrollment form.

Wallyball tourney set

North Peninsula Recreation Service Area will host a 3 on 3 Walleyball tournament Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Nikiski pool courts. The deadline for registration is Dec. 4. For more information, call 776-8800.
