The Christmas drive is under way. Applications are due Friday. To sponsor a child or a family, call Kimb or Linda. If possible, each first-grader is asked to bring one pair of mittens or gloves and second-graders are asked to bring one package of socks.

Fun Fest is from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday. The cost is $3 and permission slips are required.

The students will perform their own version of "The Polar Express" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium at Kenai Central High School. Students are asked to arrive by 6:45 p.m. First-graders are asked to wear pajamas. Older students will wear "Sunday best" concert clothing.

In science lab, the students continue their studies on the properties of water cohesion, density and water pressure. Students also are focusing on blends in phonics.

The second- and third-graders studied Africa as Mrs. Bailey shared slides and her African experiences with them last week. Students made maps and are beginning to learn about the continents and oceans of the world. The school would like to thank to Mr. Zorbas for helping students create a Power Point presentation about Africa.

APC is today at 4 p.m.
