In honor of the Thanksgiving season, the students participated in a baking contest Nov. 23. Amy and Elizabeth Wood baked a cheesecake with blackberries and chocolate and won first place, Julianne and Naomi Pettey won second place with an Oreo casserole and third-place was awarded to Jesse Puletau, who made jelly pastries. Thank you the judges for helping with this event.
The school will host a junior high basketball tournament Thursday through Saturday. The games will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday and at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday. There will be eight schools playing in the tournament. The Eagles' first game is at 4:45 p.m. Thursday. The Lady Eagles' first game begins at 7:15 p.m. Thursday night.
The kindergartners studied about the first Thanksgiving last week. They also learned about the letter "p" and how to add.
The cleanest desk awards were given to Amber Kent and Jesse Puletau. Melissa Newton won the most interesting fact contest.
Kassidy Foust, Jesse Puletau and Julianne Pettey entered the 1000's club.
Alex Pettey and Alisha Thompson made it to the 2000's club.
