No. 13 Georgia crushes UNLV

BERKELEY, Calif. -- Freshman Kara Braxton had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 13 Georgia to a 77-62 win over UNLV on Saturday in the first round of the Oakland Tribune Classic.

UNLV (4-1) had a 47-38 with 13:11 remaining, but Georgia (4-0) went on a 15-4 run to take a 53-51 lead on Tina Taylor's jumper with 10:13 left.

Linda Frolich scored 16 of her game-high 27 points in the first half for the Rebels.

No. 19 Florida 78, Creighton 67

NEW ORLEANS -- Brandi McCain scored 23 points and Vanessa Hayden had 20 points, 18 rebounds and five blocked shots as Florida beat Creighton in the opening round of the Tulane Invitational tournament.

Florida (4-2), which survived 22 turnovers and 11 3-point goals by Creighton (1-3), will play for the championship Sunday against Tulane.

Rice 67, No. 22 George Washington 54

HOUSTON -- Elisa Inman had 20 points and 13 rebounds, powering unbeaten Rice past George Washington. Kara Liggitt scored 11 points for the Lady Owls (5-0). Johnetta Hayes added nine points, seven rebounds and four blocks.

Elena Vishniakova had 12 points and 13 rebounds for George Washington (2-3).
