Chamber to hold luncheon

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold its luncheon at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House in Soldotna. The speaker will be Pete Sprague, Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly president, speaking on the borough proposed sales tax changes. For more information, call the chamber office at 262-9814.

Youth facility advisory board meeting planned

Homer coffee shop to host chamber mixer

City's Christmas tree lighting to offer festivities

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, Soldotna Senior Citizens Center, city of Soldotna and Central Emergency Services are having the Patriotic Christmas Tree Lighting and Fun Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Parker Park and the senior center on West Park Avenue. Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children and listen to wish lists. Mayor Dave Carey will be the master of ceremonies. Free sleigh rides will be available, and carolers will perform. Fishers association plans meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Fishermen's Association and David Cusato will hold a meeting for Cook Inlet setnet fishers. It will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road in Kenai. The topic will be Cook Inlet Setnet Revitalization Plan CSRP. The guest speaker will be Chuck McCallum of the Chignik Seiners Association. He will address the Chignik co-op structure and current changes. Homer nurse to visit south peninsula communities

The Homer public health nurse will conduct health clinics in several communities this month. On Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. the nurse will be at the Nikolaevsk; and on Dec. 12 the nurse will be at the Ninilchik Clinic from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Immunizations, well child checks and pregnancy tests will be available.
