The following is a list of Soldotna Community School classes and activities beginning this week. The list is printed as a reminder to registered participants. If you are not preregistered, call the Soldotna Community School office at 262-6768 to check on space availability, location changes and cancellations. Note: Children are not allowed to attend an adult class or to wait unattended while a parent attends a class.
There will be no Gentleman's Basketball due to the Soldotna Middle School concert.
Adopting the Waiting Children: Reimbursed/Grant Adoptions with Teresa Brown, adoption specialist. A Family Services representative will explain Project Home Study and Project Succeed, then a panel of parents who have adopted older children will provide a question-and-answer session. The class is open to adults and will meet from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Soldotna Middle School library. Cost is $10 for individuals and $15 per couple. To preregister, call 262-6768. Soap making with Joyce Cox, Girl Scout field executive. Students are invited to learn the art of soap making. Children in kindergarten through first grade will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Soldotna Middle School home economics room, and children from fourth to ninth grade will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. There is a 10-person minimum and 15-person maximum. Snowmobile Safety and Owner Maintenance, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Homer High School. Cost is $5.
Plaid Christmas Baskets, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 14 at Courtney's Cache. Cost is $45, plus materials.
