Hakkinen leads U.S. team

Jay Hakkinen of Kasilof was the top U.S. men's finisher in a Europa Cup race held in Geilo, Norway, on Saturday.
Hakkinen finished 38th in the 10-kilometer sprint Saturday. Hakkinen was 1 minute, 56.2 seconds, behind winner Tomasz Sikora of Poland. Hakkinen skied well, but his four penalties kept him from a higher finish.
Hakkinen will now prepare to start World Cup competitions.
