Cookie fundraiser set to munch

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church will host its 11th annual cookie by the pound fundraiser from 10 a.m. until the cookies are sold out Saturday at the church at 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.

Christmas brunch set

Kenai Aglow, a Community Lighthouse for Women will hold a women’s Christmas brunch at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. Cookie fundraiser boxed to go

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church will hold its annual cookies by the dozen sale. The cost is $4 per dozen. Cookies are sold on a preorder basis only. Deadline to order is Wednesday.

Cantata choir practice

The Peninsula Grace Brethren Church Christmas Cantata Choir practices are held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 17 at the church. Cantata performances will be Dec. 17 and 18 at the church.

Interested community members can preview music at and then by clicking on “Come Let Us Adore Him.”

Choir members will be required to pay $10 to help cover the cost of music and the accompaniment DVD. For more information, call Dan Thornton at 262-6442.

Christmas programs planned

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, Sunday school department will hold the following activities in celebration of the birth of Jesus:

· “The Baby King” at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 performed by children ages infant through 12. The Hearts A’ Fire and Children choir groups will sing. Refreshments will be served;

· Birthday party for Jesus at 7 p.m. Dec. 21; and

· Praise and worship service at 2 p.m. Dec. 25. Special music selections and the AAJC Choir will perform the cantata “The Way He Came.” A special Christmas message will follow.

Candlelight services slated

First Baptist Church in Soldotna will hold a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6:30 p.m. The church also will host a birthday brunch for Jesus at 9:30 a.m. Christmas Day followed by a children’s program at 11 a.m. For more information, call 262-4304.

Nikiski Bible study continues

North Star United Methodist Church Disciple I Bible study class continues from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Mondays at the church. The course is based on a model of Jesus and his 12 disciples. For more information, call Laura Skiba, pastor, at 776-8732.

Bible study group to meet
