Soldotna resident Donna Lee Kartchner died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at home. She was 52.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Soldotna. President Kearlee Wright will officiate at the service. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Justin Bird, Shane Boze, Jody Earll, Regan Demello and Bobby Boze.
Ms. Kartchner was born May 19, 1950, in Farmington, N.M. She graduated from high school in Sanmanuell, Ariz. She moved to Alaska from Arizona in 1989.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed woodwork and crafts and also an artist and a poet.
"Donna had five girls, and they were her world. Nothing meant more to her than them. Donna was also very strong in the gospel," her family said.
Mrs. Kartchner is survived by her daughters, Lisa Harmon, Nellie Piatt, Tammera Demello, Teresa Gallego and Amanda Bird; grandchildren, Amber Criner, Ben Piatt, Tanisha and Jared Chavez, Rylan Demello, Traytorn and Chaz Bird and Ashlyn Vehmeier; her mother, Celia Kartchner; and siblings, Leatha Earll, Emma Phillips, Howard Kartchner, Vernelle Boze, Dorothy Brown and Arlean Bentley.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
