Parents are reminded to help their students remember their winter gear. There have been a number of students coming to school without hats and gloves. Children seldom think of the consequences of not dressing properly for the cold weather, and frostbite is long term and serious condition.
The school is beginning its annual food drive. Every class will decorate a box and begin to fill it with its classes food donations. The boxes are connected into a "train" complete with rails. Any nonperishable item is welcome, including canned goods, boxes of cereal and cake and muffin mixes. Donated goods will go to the The Salvation Army for distribution.
The Young Shopper's Club will held Dec. 8 to 12. Gifts range in price from pocket change to $10, with most items priced under $3. A budget envelope will be sent home with students.
The Box Tops for Education contest is under way with classrooms vying for the opportunity to win a root beer float party, $50 for the class to spend and a Bear Paw punch card for the teacher. Parents are encouraged to send in box tops with your student.
