Mrs. Overturf's kindergarten class has been researching toads and frogs. The students are now charting "what we knew before we started our study," "what we want to know" and "what have we learned."
Students are concentrating on the study of solids, cylinder, sphere, ovoid, ellipse, cone and binomial cubes in the sensorial area.
Golden beads are used to introduce the decimal system. The students start with unit ones, ten bar, one hundred square (one hundred beads hooked together in a square) and one thousand cube (one thousand beads connected as a cube).
In language work, the students are clapping out the syllables in one, two and three syllable words as well as listening for rhyming words.
