Former Alaska resident Margaret Ann King of Denton, Texas, died Nov. 27, 2007 after a long illness. She was 81.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at The North Kenai Chapel, 53580 Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. Mrs. King will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in the McGahan Cemetery in Nikiski.
Mrs. King was born in Conway, Ark., on Dec. 8, 1925, to Brinkley and Ellen Hawk. She married Onis King on Dec. 21, 1945, and they remained together until his death in 2002. She was a homemaker and kept the books for AKCO while Onis ran the day-to-day operations of the business.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, though she had not been active for several years.
"Even though Ann was living in Texas, Alaska was always her home," her family said.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and son, Terry Don King.
Mrs. King is survived by sons, L.B. King and his wife, Freda, and Tommy Lynn King and his wife, Linda; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
