Bee keepers all a buzz about meeting

Bee Keeper’s Educational Exchange on the Peninsula (B-KEEP) will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Soldotna Middle School. The topics will be apitherapy and package bee ordering. It is open to the public. For more information, call Ray at 335-2833 or Rosy at 262-6084.

Sterling byway workshop scheduled

Area groups in communities along the Sterling Highway State Byway, from the Seward Highway Way to Skilak Lake Road, and from Anchor Point through Homer, have expressed interest in developing a Corridor Partnership Plan. The groups are hosting workshops at the following locations: Homer from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center’s, seminar room. It is sponsored by The Homer Chamber of Commerce; Cooper Landing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cooper Landing Community Center. It is sponsored by Cooper Landing Community Club and Advisory Planning Commission; and in Anchor Point from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Anchor River Inn. It is sponsored by Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce.

Swimmers ready to make a splash

The Soldotna Silver Salmon swim team will hold tryouts at 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Soldotna High School swimming pool.

SoHi after-grad meeting slated

Parents of Soldotna High School seniors are needed to help plan the after-graduation party. The committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the teachers lounge. For more information, call Mary Jo Spotts at 262-5447.

Reading carnival canceled
