Oilers keep adding to roster

Andy Preston from Garden City Community College joins the Peninsula Oilers for the 2006 season. After the 2005 season Preston, who stands 6-foot-4, was named second-team All-Jayhawk Conference at first base and to the National Junior College Athletic Association Academic All-American list. Preston, a sophomore, is studying secondary education-mathematics and lists Hutchinson, Kan., as his hometown.

Purdue University second baseman Eric Osborn also joins the Oilers for the 2006 season. Osborn started 55 out of 56 games for the Boilermakers his freshman season, finishing with a .304 batting average. Osborn sat out the 2005 season with medical redshirt and is fully recovered and eager for the 2006 season to begin. Eric calls Fishers, Ind., home and is majoring in management at the Big Ten school.
