Kenny Lake wins Borealis Tournament
Kenny Lake won the Borealis Conference volleyball tournament on Saturday at Nenana, with Tok and Seldovia also qualifying for the Class 1-2-3A-West state tournament by finishing second and third, respectively.
Area teams Ninilchik and Cook Inlet Academy played at the tournament but did not qualify for state.
Ninilchik entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed, but an injury to the Wolverines setter three weeks ago and an injury to the middle blocker during the first game of the tournament left the Wolverines with just six players, according to coach Mary Clock.
Krista Leman made the all-tournament team for Ninilchik.
