ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man has been charged with bank robbery for stealing $800 from a credit union in south Anchorage.

Investigators say Richard D. Lovick, 50, held up the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in the Fred Meyer store on Dimond Blvd., taking $800 in cash, according to an affidavit filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court.

Lovick was arrested Nov. 25 after he tried to rob the Kmart at 8601 Old Seward Highway, nine days after the bank robbery. He has been charged in state court with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault for that incident. He is being held in jail in Anchorage.
