Soldotna hockey cruises past Colony

Brad Duwe and Sean Endsley recorded hat tricks in propelling Soldotna to a convincing 10-1 win over Colony in North Star Conference hockey action Thursday night in the Valley.

Matt Silver added two goals and Daniel Markstrom one for the Stars, who travel to Wasilla today at 7 p.m.

Endsley scored his second of the game on a five-on-three 9:20 into the third in making it 9-1 and then completed the hat trick just 36 seconds later while still on the power play. Duwe picked up both of those assists and Markstrom also added three assists.

Palmer 8, Kenai 1

The Moose had little trouble in defeating the visiting Kardinals in North Star Conference action at the Palmer Ice Arena.

Palmer scored five of their goals on the power play and also added a short-handed tally.

Tyler Isaacs and Jared Hanson netted two goals apiece, while Kyle Blakeman, Zach Richards, Dylan Danielowski and Ivan Good all scored once.

The Kardinals, who trailed 4-1 after the second period, remain winless on the season and take on Colony at 7 p.m. today.

Cameron Borchgrevink got credit for Kenai's lone goal with about 1:48 remaining in the middle frame.
