Willow woman dies in Parks Highway accident

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Willow woman died and a man was injured when their vehicles collided on the Parks Highway near Talkeetna on Monday afternoon.

Alaska State Troopers said Marilyn Riddle, 71, was driving a Chevy Blazer north when her wheels went off the pavement and onto the shoulder.

Troopers said she traveled about 400 feet before returning to the road, where she crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a pickup.

Riddle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pickup driver Albert Stein, 37, of Eielson Air Force Base was taken to Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
