Church plans musical events

Peninsula Grace Brethren Church will hold its annual Christmas dessert musical, "Hope Has Come," at 7 p.m. today, Saturday, Dec. 13 and 14. Tickets are $5, and include dessert during the intermission. For more information, call 262-6442.

Potters to hold holiday sale

The Kenai Potters Guild is having its annual Christmas sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Fine Art Center, 816 Cook Ave., in Old Town Kenai. For more information, call Charlie at 260-7652.

Fishers association plans meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Fishermen's Association and David Cusato will hold a meeting for Cook Inlet setnet fishers from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road in Kenai. The topic will be Cook Inlet Setnet Revitalization Plan CSRP. The guest speaker will be Chuck McCallum of the Chignik Seiners Association. He will address the Chignik co-op structure and current changes. This informational meeting is not intended to promote any specific agenda. For more information, call the KPFA office at 262-2492.

HEA, chambers sponsor light competitions

The Kenai and Soldotna chambers of commerce are holding Christmas light display contests. Homer Electric Association will award prizes for first, second and third places in commercial and residential categories in both cities. The deadline for nominations is Monday. Homer nurse to visit south peninsula communities

The Homer public health nurse will conduct health clinics in several communities this month. The nurse will be at the Nikolaevsk School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and at the Ninilchik Clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Immunizations, well-child checks and pregnancy tests will be available. For more information, call (907) 235-8857.

Lunch for seniors offered

The Nikiski Senior Citizen's Center and the Kenai Moose Lodge will serve a Christmas lunch to seniors at noon Saturday at the senior center. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. For more information or to make a reservation, call 776-7654.

Folk dancers to host contra dance

The Kenai River Folk Dancers will host a community contra dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 14 at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School. Phil North will call to the music of the contra band. No partner is required. Admission is $5. Children under 16 are free with an adult. Bring clean, nonmarking shoes. Potluck refreshments are encouraged. For more information, call 260-4171.

Development center to sponsor workshop

The Peninsula Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a workshop titled "Web site Renovation, Getting it Right" by David Edward Smith, owner of Borealis Designs, from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Red Diamond Center, suite 16. This is an opportunity to gain knowledge on Web site content, development and new interactive management solutions. The cost is $15 and one day advanced reservations are requested.
