Rotary club vocational service award presented

Rotary Club President Linda Snow, right, presents the club's Vocational Service Award to Rosanna and Dan Sheldon for their outstanding vocational service to the community through their business, Dan's TV and Appliance in Kenai. The award is given by the club in recognition of vocational excellence as demonstrated by the strength of character, integrity, ethical standards and achievements of the recipients. Club members submitted award nominees by a written narrative to the the board of directors, who then made the final selection.

Miller inducted into honor society

Nikiski resident Jennifer Lynn Miller recently was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society. The society provides academic recognition to college juniors and seniors in the top 15 percent of their class.

Miller is a junior at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her major is natural resource management with a concentration in agriculture. She is minoring in journalism.

She is the daughter of Vern and Candie Miller and is a 2002 graduate of Nikiski High School.
