As this week's snowfall shows, winter driving can be an especially hazardous experience.

Thanksgiving is past and we had more than enough food on our plates. We enjoyed leftover turkey and dressing for a day or two. No one in my family was concerned if there would be a Thanksgiving dinner. We've always been fortunate to have enough food.

SoHi hockey nips Knights: Palmer squeaks past Stars
Soldotna's hockey team needed an additional three minutes to defeat the visiting Colony Knights 3-2 Friday in North Star Conference action at the Soldotna Sports Center. The Stars lost 2-1 to Palmer at the Sports Center on Saturday.

Kenai skaters fall to Moose, Warriors
Palmer's Ivan Good followed his four-goal game against Homer on Thursday with a repeat performance, scoring four goals against Kenai Central's hockey team Friday at the Soldotna Sports Center. The visiting Moose defeated the Kardinals 5-0 in North Star Conference play. The Kards suffered a close, 4-2 loss to Wasilla on Saturday at the Sports Center.

Nikiski takes Denali-Kachemak championship
With 12 wrestlers qualifying for the state tournament, a coach of the year award and winning the title, the Nikiski Bulldogs had an impressive showing at the inaugural Denali-Kachemak Conference tournament Friday and Saturday at Anchorage Christian Schools.
