Pet photos wanted!

The Clarion’s My Best Friend pet photo pile is dwindling. Have you got a photo you’d like to share?

Photos either can be color or black and white and should be no smaller than 3-by-5 inches. They may include people. Limit one photo per household. They can be dropped off at the Kenai office or mailed to the Clarion at P.O. Box 3009, Kenai, 99611. A brief explanation of the photo, the pet’s and owner’s names, owner’s address and phone number must be included. E-mailed photos will not be accepted.

Only photos with an address written on the back will be returned.For more information, call 283-7551.

Fine arts exhibit opens Thursday

Boys and Girls Club members will display their art at the club’s Fine Arts Exhibit at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Peninsula Center Mall. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 283-2682.

College council meeting scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula College Council will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in Room 132 at the Kenai River Campus.

Coalition going into action

The Community Action Coalition will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library at Soldotna High School. It is open to the public. For more information, call 398-7738.

Soldotna set to light up the holidays

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. Friday at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center on West Park Avenue. Santa will arrive by fire truck and bring treats for the children. Photos, free horse-drawn sleigh rides, hot cocoa and cookies are some the planned activities.

On Sunday, the chamber will host the band The Greatlanders from Elmendorf Air Force Base at 6 p.m. at the Soldotna High School Auditorium. For more information, call Erica Williamson at 262-9814.

Craft fairs vendors sought

The Sterling Elementary PTA is seeking vendors for its holiday craft fair to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Booth space is available. The cost is $50.
