DIBELS-CBM testing for kindergarten through third-graders will be Jan. 3 through 14. Call to schedule an appointment.

Home-school skate day will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Alaska Great Skate. Admission is $4 and includes skates. For more information, call the office.

Safe Sitter classes for ages 11 to 13 will be from 9 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 20 and 21 at Central Peninsula General Hospital. The cost is $50. Preregister by calling 714-4775 or e-mail safesitter@cpgh.org.

The Division of Sport Fish is sponsoring a contest to find cover illustrations for three of the 2005 Sport Fishing Regulation Summary booklets. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade can produce an illustration in any media, such as paint, colored pencil, marker or collage and should show a memorable sport fishing event. The Kenai Art Guild's 13th annual kid's show will run Jan. 1 through 22. Children ages 2 to 12 are invited to bring their artwork to the Kenai Fine Arts Center at 816 Cook St. in Kenai by 4 p.m. Dec. 31 for entry into the show. There is a $2.50 entry fee per child and three entries are permitted. For more information, call Debbie Harris at 283-7663.
