Congratulations to the following students for being selected physical education students of the week: eighth-graders Meranda Mahan and Coby McAtee; seventh-graders Taylor Matson and Donnie Dormady; and sixth-graders Saraya Coburn and Casey Crowder.

The annual canned food drive will continue through Dec. 17. The can count is at 1,500. The staff is thankful and excited to have such participation in this program. The items will be used to sponsor the Christmas drive.

Yearbooks are on sale. The cost is $30. A certificate of purchase is available to wrap up for Christmas. Order forms are available at the office.

To break up the long winter, students will participate in annual club activities beginning Jan. 21. For six weeks on Fridays, students will attend a selected club activity from 1:44 to 2:27 p.m. Students will not miss out on regular core or exploratory classes as each class period will be shortened six minutes to allow for a 40 minute club period. This is an opportunity for staff members to get to know different students in the building while sharing their talents. Parents are encouraged to visit a class or spend time observing a club activity.

Dates to remember:

Thursday Choir concert at 7 p.m. at Kenai Central High School

Saturday Basketball "A" Boroughs at 9 a.m. at Soldotna Middle School;

Monday Band concert at KCHS;

Dec. 15 Chamber student of the month luncheon;

Dec. 17 Assemble schedule and club sign up; and

Dec. 20 Christmas break.
