Families who need help with Christmas are asked to call Mr. Syverson as soon as possible. Monetary donations in any amount will be gratefully accepted. Call the school office for information.

The holiday canned food drive continues through Dec. 15. The schools' goal is to collect 400 cans of food for the food bank for Christmas.

The fourth through sixth grades will present the musical, "The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree," at 6 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Soldotna High School auditorium. There is no charge.

The school will be closed to all staff and the public Dec. 19 through Dec. 31 for cricket extermination. Copies of the MSDS sheets (for the spray being used) are available at the school.

Yearbooks are on sale for $18. Yearbooks will arrive in May.

December 17 is red and green day. Students and staff are invited to dress in Christmas colors and clothing.

Congratulations to the trash ball spirit poster winners, the Trash Mashers and Zoomers.

The school will implement a parallel block schedule after Christmas. Parallel block scheduling decreases class sizes during peak instruction and subject times and increases collaboration between teachers of similar grade levels. Parents may call Mr. Syverson for more information.

Fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders are preparing for the school spelling bee at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the gymnasium. The winner will represent the school at the state level.

There are no site council or PTA meetings scheduled for December.
