The band and choir will host its Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium. There is no fee. The program will feature traditional Christmas melodies and the band will play for the student body Friday during break.
The Rotary student of the month luncheon will be held today. Rotary nominees are Tory Coursen, Tanya Almarez, Taryn Moeglein, Amy Hundertmark, Lauren Olendorff, Becky Utrup, Michael Bruxvoort, Sarah Heminger, Emily Myers, Samantha Engler, Merissa Schoendaller, Miquelle Moreno, Ashley Kline, Audrey Mahaffey, Ben Greiss, Melissa Halama, Cody Foust and Sam Jones.
On Friday and Saturday, the wrestling team will travel to Kodiak to the Robbie Hervey Invitational.
The cheerleaders will hold its end-of-the season banquet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Don Jose's in Kenai.
The school will participate in the following academic competitions: Mock Trial, Model UN, Academic Decathlon, National Ocean Science Bowl and Future Problem Solving.
Seniors are reminded to check with the counseling office for scholarship opportunities and the schedule of college visitations. Alaska Pacific University will be at the school Dec. 16.
The superintendent of schools, Donna Peterson, visited the school Tuesday, observing classes and meeting with staff.
After the Bell is available Monday through Thursday in the Dell Lab from 7 to 7:50 a.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m. for students needing homework assistance, math help, career exploration, testing preparation and project research work. Signing in at the sessions signs students up for the program.
Applications for lifeguard training are being accepted. Applicants must be at least 15 years old. Information may be obtained by calling 262-7419. Classes begin Dec. 18. Three to four new employees also are being sought for the pool staff.
