Park use passes available

The 2007 Alaska State Park decals are available for purchase and can be obtained online at www.alaskastateparks.org. Click on Alaska State Parks Sample Decals to access the secure online order form. Decals can be purchased using Visa, MasterCard or an electronic check and will be mailed within four business days.

Annual day-use parking decals are $40. A second pass for a second vehicle in the same household can be purchased for an additional $20. Subsequent passes are $40. The decal allows you to park in day-use areas without paying day-use fees and park in the day-use area parking lots for multiple days without having to pay additional fees.

A boat launch decal is available for $75. A second pass for a second decal for the same household is available for $40. Subsequent passes are $75.

The 2007 decals can be purchased at the Anchorage and Fairbanks Public Information Centers, or at State Park Headquarter Offices in Soldotna.

The 2007-08 camping pass (DAV) for Alaskan veterans with a service-connected disability is available at the Anchorage and Fairbanks Public Information Centers, or at State Park Headquarter Office in Soldotna. Veterans must present their Veterans Universal Access Identification card with the words “service connected” printed under their picture, or a current-year letter stating a service-connected disability and proof of Alaska residency prior to requesting a DAV decal. The pass must be picked up in person.

Birders flock to discuss count

Keen Eye Peninsula Birders will meet at the Marlow’s at 2 p.m. Sunday when Jack Sinclair will present information about the Christmas Bird Count and Ken Tarbox will have an update on the Wildlife Viewing Trail. The group will also discuss activities for future meetings, birding information, field trips and possibly some birding. For more information, call Linda Story at 262-9031

Fish and Game AC committee election slated

The Seldovia Fish and Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the community room of the library. The committee will also discuss other resource issues that come before them. For more information call Keith Gain at 234-7635.
