ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A teenage boy from the village of Aniak is missing and feared drowned.
Alaska State Troopers said Dean Kelilia, 16, was reported missing Sunday afternoon. He was last seen late Friday night by his younger sister.
The girl told troopers she thought her brother had been drinking. He told her he intended to ride his all-terrain vehicle across the slough to the family's home in Old Aniak. Neither Kelilia nor his ATV have been seen since.
Family members and troopers searched Aniak and contacted friends in surrounding villages, but no one has reported seeing the boy.
Troopers say there is a lot of open water and thin ice in the area.
Special dragging equipment and underwater cameras are being sent to the area from Bethel to assist with the search.
Anika is located approximately 100 miles northeast of Bethel on the Kuskokwim River.
